As you know, I receive daily emails from the Indiana Dept of Health with Covid-19 stats. Earlier this week, Jay County had moved from red to orange, meaning we are able to "open" the sanctuary. This morning, I opened yesterday's email and Jay County has moved from orange to yellow - in fact, Jay County is the lowest in the entire state - again!!
So, Calvary UMC will reopen this Sunday, January 24, 2021! We will take precautions, of course, and look forward to welcoming you in person if you are comfortable doing so.
Here are the guidelines:
† Please wear a mask as you enter and exit. We will exercise physical distancing, so you won't need to wear your mask during the service unless you prefer to do so. Disposable masks are available.
† Members of the same household do not need to be phsically distant from one another
† Hymn books will not be used - all songs and readings overhead
† We will have no contact offerings and no contact greetings
† Disinfecting will be done both before and after the service
† We have plenty of hand soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towels
† Streaming of worship services will continue (recent issues seem to have been resolved)
While we hope to welcome some of you in the sanctuary, we also encourage you not to come if you are at risk or feel that is what is best for you at this time. Meanwhile, please know we are here for you and ask you to contact us with prayer requests or other needs. Of course, please do not come if you feel sick.
Please send a message if you have any questions – thank you!
